Your beginner-friendly guide to a matcha latte: how I make my own Starbucks matcha latte at home
Hi everyone 🤍

How are you holding up in this heatwave? I normally keep complaining until summer is over, but I managed to find something that made heatwaves a bit more bearable. I have to admit that I am late to the matcha craze that's been going on for the past two years, but I managed to catch up nonetheless. It all began when I gave it another shot at Starbucks recently and actually liked it.

I knew, however, that it must not be too hard to make my own matcha latte at home; it didn't seem too complicated like the other drinks. So, if you're suffering in the heat, know that I got you with my no-fuss, at-home matcha latte recipe.

First, you'll need to keep ice cubes in the freezer for any random matcha moment that can arise throughout the day. Knowing me, you probably guessed that I use a heart-shaped ice cube tray.

Prepare a tall, aesthetic clear cup, as one should, and scoop out about a tablespoon of matcha to add into the cup. Use a boiler to bring the smallest amount of water to a boil. Add the boiling water to the matcha in the cup and mix.

At this step, I usually add any sweetener I want that day. For some extra fluffiness, I use a milk frother. Next, I add some cold water and ice. Leaving just about a quarter of the cup empty, I fill it up with cold soy or almond milk. Of course, if you'd like for your latte to be milkier, just replace some of the water with milk. And that's it! Just top it off with a straw and enjoy your latte. At this point, I'm building a home café. Complement this drink with a slice of my afternoon tea cake. Super simple and, most importantly, healthy!

How do you like your matcha? Will you be trying this recipe?
