Balea Professional Oil Intensive Hair Mask with Argan Oil Review | dm pharmacy
Hello everyone 🌻
Today's review is on this hair mask by Balea.
I have talked about this haircare range before in this pharmacy/ drugstore haul post here. I specifically expressed how much I liked the scent of this range; it just reminds me of custard or some sort of dessert I used to have back in the day. Unfortunately, though, the scent doesn't last that long. It starts off strong and dreamy, then you can only smell it if you really go in there and deliberately sniff your hair, and then it just fades away; all in a matter of 5 hours, maximum. So, although I find the scent to be a great feature that truly sets this product apart from other hair masks, I don't think it's that important anyway, because it just doesn't last.

At least it doesn't smell bad, like the DIY hair masks we make at home. This is a huge advantage because some days, I would drench my hair in it, put it in a bun, and head right to the gym, or do some cleaning, without worrying that my hair mask is too smelly or greasy. It just feels light and convenient to use. While we're on the topic of formula, I think I should mention its light consistency that resembles a hair cream. I don't have a picture of the creamy formula itself (because I completely finished the mask), but it just looks and feels like any white hair cream would. However, it doesn't translate as well when I apply it to my hair; it mattifies the hair a little bit and can transfer to pillows and anything you put your hair near it. Unless you let it sit for a while, don't go to bed right after you apply it to your hair or it'll be wiped off on the pillows and bedsheets.

The mask comes in a round tub container that has a screw cap, and it's about the size of the palm of my hand.

Not long ago, I had to stay at a hotel for a week, which turned into two for some reason. And because I only packed just enough hair conditioner to last me a week, I ran out pretty quickly. Luckily, I had this hair mask with me, so I tried to use it as a conditioner that doubles as a little bit of a leave-in after the shower. It didn't really help me detangle my hair as much as the conditioner, though. However, I found that using a small amount of it on the ends of the hair after the shower can help my hair feel really soft, but maybe not as shiny as a leave-in or a hair oil would. But then again, these are not its intended functions anyway.

In terms of its actual function, I found that it adds some moisture and imparts softness to the hair for a while. I think this may be because of the Argan oil that's mixed into this thick, creamy formula that really serves the hair well. So, I try to make it a habit to use it every time before I wash my hair. The longer I leave it in, the softer it leaves my hair. I see the best results when I use it overnight then wash my hair the next day, and when I use a tiny bit on the ends of my hair as a leave-in after the shower.

Overall, I think it's a great product to try if you prefer a more hassle-free approach to haircare. The product smells good, isn't messy, and is convenient to use when you don't have much time to dedicate to haircare, yet you want to treat yourself to a good hair mask.
