Derma V10 Body Lotion for Dry Skin with Almond oil and Shea butter | Review
Hello everyone 💗
I've recently developed quite an interest in body lotions. To be frank, I wasn't a big fan of body lotions in general—I just didn't like the runny consistency and, to some extent, still don't. I also thought they were pointless and didn't offer enough moisture compared to creams and oils. However, most creams come in a tub container that's usually inconvenient to use in the shower or keep in my bathroom. Things tend to get messy when water gets into the product and it's just not the best option; needless to say, oils are even more so. You're also better off steering clear of creams and oils in the summertime, so I had to go back to experimenting with some body lotions again.
This Derma V10 body lotion is one of many lotions I've been experimenting with this past month, and I'm glad it is! Moving on from the already expected liquidy, runny consistency of most lotions, this one really does the job. The formula is smooth and even, not lumpy and inconsistent—making it easy to spread on the skin in no time. It says that it gives "rapid skin hydration" and I can testify to that. The moment you finish applying, you start feeling the difference. It gives the skin a smooth and supple feeling along with a subtle healthy glow, nothing dramatic in terms of shine. I especially like how smooth it makes my legs feel without making them sticky.
The lotion comprises almond oil and shea butter, two incredibly moisturising ingredients. Yet, it doesn't feel greasy at all. It also is "fragrance-free" and I can say that it doesn't really smell of anything in particular, which I wish was not the case—I like when my body lotion is scented, so I don't have to do any extra work after the shower; just lather it on, keep your body soft and smelling great all at the same time! But maybe they are trying to cater to sensitive skin types too. I notice that it doesn't irritate my skin, so this could be why.
I like how it targets dry skin with such a light formula, people with dry skin don't have to use greasy formulas all the time! It says that "even dry chapped skin will feel rehydrated once applied." My sister has dry skin that sometimes gets chapped and she really likes to use this lotion, especially on her hands and feet.
The bottle has this "24/7" lable written in bold, however, I don't exactly know for sure if it's true. I think it lasts for a long time, just maybe not the entire day. But to be fair, I haven't actively gone out of my way to test this yet. Some other important lables on the bottle include, "Against animal testing" and "Suitable for vegans," which we're fully here for. Click on the following picture to enlarge it and see everything better.
The only downside I noticed while using this product is how the bottle is designed. You just open the lid, squeeze the bottle for a runny lotion to ooze out uncontrollably, unless you're extremely careful. The applicator and the runny formula are just not a great combination—I find it hard to get exactly the amount of product I need to use. I reckon something like a squeezable tube or the classic lotion bottle with a pump would've been better options. Although I dislike how so much product ends up being wasted in that pump and the sides of the bottle.
Honestly, I think I still can redeem this situation; the lid of this lotion bottle can be easily removed, and then you're left with a narrow-necked bottle that you can slowly pour the product out of without any squeezing—not really hygienic though.
Overall, I think it's a great product—minimal yet effective, and even they captured it pretty well on the bottle with this quote, "love yourself for less."
